Margrethe Lasson
Anna Margrethe Lasson (March 1659 – March 1738) was a Danish novelist, the first novelist in Denmark.
Lasson was born in Copenhagen, to Jens Lassen (1625–1706), a judge on Fyn, and Margrethe Christensdatter Lund, and grew up on Dalum Kloster manor. Left destitute after her father's death and lived in poverty with a sister; their home was sold, but they were allowed to live there to their death.
She was the author of the famous poem to the Norwegian poet Dorothe Engelbretsdatter, whom she defends and admires. In 1715, she writes the novel ''Den beklædte Sandhed'', which is published in 1723 and became the first novel in Denmark. Her psedonym was “det danske Sprogs inderlige Elskerinde Aminda”, and she wrote inspired by Madeleine de Scudéry. She died in Odense.
